The Weekly Dose of Art
Well, I didn't add anything new up last week because there was nothing to add! However, this week I finally finished the piece I was working on of two Staffordshire bull terriers. Over the last few years I've really grown to love staffies, they really don't deserve all the bad press that abounds about them.
It's about 20' by 16' so another big picture. Strangely, even without a background it seemed to take far longer than the other pictures I've drawn at this size. Unfortunately though I dropped my paintbrush whilst working on this particular piece and splattered paint down the left hand side (Photoshop works wonders to remove such things!) So I am considering whether to fix it by painting a background (maybe just a single colour one). However, I hate doing the background last (I usually have to finish a background before I work on anything else). So we shall see if I get the motivation.
My second picture, finished today is this one of a lurcher on scratchboard. The photograph doesn't represent it very well, it's not as dark at the top, it's more even in brightness all over. I'm not sure if I really like the result, something about this one was bothering me but perhaps it'll grow on me when I look back on it in a few weeks time!
Planning next up is another potential scratchboard piece of my favourite kind of bird, magpies! I do want to paint again soon though, I seem to be on a painting spree and find it hard to actually get motivated to do other mediums at the moment.
Nothing much new to report on the rat front, other than Felix has revealed he has a love for dog chocolate. Hopefully bribery will make him a little more social ;)

Sometimes I want to draw dogs so bad but I feel like they are hard to draw!
I love the scratch board lurcher - its a medium I've had no luck with...
@Bewildermunster (Jess)
I don't mind drawing dogs but for me, humans are IMPOSSIBLE to draw! Hah.
@Rachel
Thanks :) And I'm sure you'd be good at it, give it another go :D
