It was more an attempt to practice fur than anything, so no actual background of note on it. I'm not sure if I succeeded on the fur but I have further pieces in mind to practice on.
My next piece is to paint the tiny canvas I bought mainly to photograph with the rats as it's their size (see a few blog entries down for a picture of it!). I'm hopefully painting one of my rats (Arrow, although I really should get round to painting the others, he has the most pictures of the lot but he's such a cheeky fellow that he demands the attention!) It'll be in acrylics so I'm hoping it'll turn out okay (it's so tiny compared to what I usually work on so fur might be a more of a challenge than ever!) On from that I have an idea of what I'd like to paint next, potentially a large piece (roughly A3 or A2 size, depending when my new paper arrives!). I'll blog more about it if the sketch comes along as I like!
Until next time!

The expression is really sweet on the dog!
I'd imagine it'll be difficult painting on so small a canvas - but you must try and get one of the rats to pose with it since its their size! :-)
@Rachel
Thank you :)
I have since finished the little rat-sized canvas and got Arrow to pose by it :) Have uploaded a photo in my latest post ^_^
